Total Building Maintenance is proud to announce that it has been certified with the highest internationally recognised information security standard, ISO 27001:2013.
This certification was achieved after a rigorous audit by an independent, internationally accredited certifying body.
As security conscious company in the building services sector, Total Building Maintenance has demonstrated that it can protect customers’ information assets. This is an important step towards our commitment to safeguarding your business against cyber crime or other security breaches.
This certification is an addition to the three already existing standards held by Total Building Maintenance, Quality 9001: 2015, Environmental 14001: 2015 and Health & Safety 45001: 2018.
So what is ISO 27001:2013?
The ISO 27001 standard specifies security requirements for all aspects of information security, including physical and environmental security.
This certification shows that Total Building Maintenance has implemented procedures to prevent data loss or theft, maintain ongoing customer confidentiality, take appropriate measures against viruses and malware, protect the company’s IT infrastructure from fire damage, as well as backup data securely.
The security standard has been developed to enable organisations to demonstrate that they take information security seriously. It requires close scrutiny of all risks affecting customer data, including loss or theft. For example, the company must ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities for information security and are trained in relevant tasks.
A spokesperson from Total Building Maintenance said: “This certification demonstrates our commitment to protecting the information we hold about you and your business.”
Peter Barry, Managing Director at Total Building Maintenance:
“This certification is in recognition of the hard work and effort by all members of staff who have helped us achieve this impressive milestone. Our security officer, Nichola Jackson, played a key role in the certification process, as well as our relationship managers and account managers who strive to maintain confidentiality at all times.”
